Beautiful scene of four women sitting underneath a cherry tree in blossom about to enjoy a picnic. Shuntei was born in Aichi Prefecture, and lived in Edo. He was a pupil first of Watanabe Shoka, and later of Tomioka Eisen. He is best known for his striking compositions and depictions of beautiful women. From the series Tosei furaku tsu, (Esteemed Towns and Villages).
