Dogs Tongue: In the 1830s, Houndstooth or Dogs Tongue was known in France to be made into an emollient and diuretic for daily use in inflammatory diseases, especially of the urinary organs. To prepare as a diuretic, the houndstooth leaves were mashed, and then boiled in water to extract oils, volatile organic compounds, and other chemical substances. By the end of the 1830s, doctors in England were using it as an antiaphrodisiac to combat venereal excesses.

Bilimbi: Averrhoa bilimbi is a small tropical tree native to Malaysia and Indonesia. In Indonesia, A. bilimbi, locally known as belimbing wuluh, is often used to give sour or an acidic flavor to food, substituting tamarind or tomato. Its made into pickle or jam in many other Asian countries.
