Description:
Scarce engraved world map on Mercators Projection based on Robert’s map issued in the British Admiralty accounts of Cook’s third and final voyage. Â
The map includes the tracks of Captain Cook’s three voyages of exploration. Cook made an enormous contribution to the overall knowledge of world cartography. He discovered and charted; the east coast of Australia, New Zealand, the Hawaiian Islands, explored southern waters and disproved the existence of a navigable Northwest Passage. Roberts’s chart was the most up-to-date world map for its time.
