Scarce early c.19th hand coloured Italian engraving of portraits of three aborigines based on the original engravings by Nicholas Petit  issued as three separate portraits in the accounts of Nicholas Baudin’s  voyage of exploration and discovery in the ships; Geographe and Causarina in 1802-3. From left, the portraits are of;

Left: Oui-ré-kine (Wárrgan/Worogan), a young woman from Port Jackson tribe.
Centre: Cour-rou-bari-gal known as Morore
Right: Port Jackson warrior Y-erran-gou-la-ga known as “Mosquito”. of the Boregegal clan (Bradleys Head Clan)
