Biography:

William Evans of Eton (1798-1877) 

Artist known as William Evans of Eton. Son of Samuel Evans, drawing master at Eton, who he succeeded in 1818. A pupil of Peter de Wint. Made regular visits to Scotland, and two to Ireland. Visited the Continent around 1866.
