The 10th Royal Hussars (Prince of Wales’s Own) was a cavalry regiment of the British Army raised in 1715. As part of the 6th Cavalry Brigade, the regiment charged the French cavalry and infantry at the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815
Biography:
Lady Elizabeth Butler (1846-1933) was a British painter and one of the few female painters to achieve fame for historical paintings, especially military battle scenes. She married Lieutenant General Sir William Butler, becoming Lady Butler.
Born at Villa Claremont in Lausanne, Switzerland, she specialised in painting scenes of British military campaigns and battles. In 1866 she went to South Kensington, London, and entered the Female School of Art.
