One from the set of four famous cartographic curiosities by Seutter.
The series of impressive copper engravings intended to serve as a serious instructional aid by illustrating geographical terms.
The gigantic symbolic figure is an tElector in full robes, which are covered with listings of all the rulers of the Holy Roman Empire, princes, electors, and dukes. At the left is a pillar of heraldic coats of arms and on the right the crown and chair of state.

Georg Matthias Seutter (1678-1757)
Seutter was one of the leading German cartographers of the C18th who founded his own firm in Augsburg, Germany, around 1707. He was made Imperial Geographer in recognition of his mapmaking skills.
