Description:

Rare , c.19th hand coloured  engraving of the first bridge over the Macquarie River, at Dubbo which was opened on 24th May, 1866 by the Governor and Sir Samuel Saul.

A ball was held on the bridge, with Miss Campbell of Bunglegumbie playing the piano. The population of the town was 500 at the time.
