Bartolomeo Borghi (1750-1821)

Borghi
was an Italian geographer born in 1750 at Monte del Lago, a small village in
the municipality of Magione, in the province of Perugia.

A passionate scholar of geography, in 1770 he wrote Geographical,
Physical and Natural Geography of Lake Trasimeno
and in 1791 published in the acts of the Etruscan Academy of
Cortona Dissertation over the ancient geography of Etruria, Umbria and
Piceno
. He was made a member of the
Cortona and Royal Academy of Florence.

He published his General Atlas of Ab.Bartolommeo Borghi, in Florence in 1819. The atlas, accompanied by brief historical, political, civil and natural
descriptions.
