One from the set of four famous cartographic curiosities by Seutter, it depicts a warrior king with flowing robes and his regal and martial trophies. His breastplate, shirt and legs are covered with text listing European kings from the 1st to the 17th century. To the left are twelve large armorials or coats-of-arms with Germany at top

Georg Matthias Seutter (1678-1757)
Seutter was one of the leading German cartographers of the C18th who founded his own firm in Augsburg, Germany, around 1707. He was made Imperial Geographer in recognition of his mapmaking skills.
