Biography:

George Cargill Leighton (1826-1895) 

Engraver, colour printer and Baxter Licensee.

Originally apprenticed to George Baxter. Leighton opposed Baxter’s application for exclusive use of the colour printing process. The apprentices were eventually granted licences. Scarce.

Sir Edwin Landseer  (1802-1873)

British sporting & animal painter. At the age of 14 years entered Royal Academy. To perfect his knowledge of animals he studied dissection. He greatly admired by Queen Victoria.
