The Match Between the All-England Eleven and Twenty-Two of the New South Wales Cricketers, Played in the Domain at Sydney.

Scarce colonial engraving of the cricket the match between the All England cricket team’s first tour of Australia in 1861–62 generated huge excitement, the tourists’ first match was in Sydney played at the Domain, over four days in January 1862. 

This was the first-ever tour of Australia by any overseas team and the second tour abroad by an English team. The Secretary for Lands, John Robertson controversially allowed the promoters to charge admission to the public while arranging a free stand for parliamentarians.
