Description:
Scarce c.19th lithograph of Singapore from Fort Canning in 1865.
The view looks directly down on the river basin with the Town Hall partially visible on the far left, South Boat Quay and Boutstead’s warehouse. The two bridges across the river are Elgin Bridge (its single span replaced Thompson’s Bridge in 1862) and Coleman Bridge in the bottom right-hand corner.
