A detailed and informative map celestial from A.C.Black’s Atlas. This series of maps are often misdescribed as lithographs i.e. printed in colour (Chromo lithograph) although they are clearly engraved. They are typical of colour printed engravings in that they have a combination of fine line work which is unsuitable for lithography and a "blotchy" appearance of the printed colour especially if viewed under magnification. Additionally on the lower left it states, "Printed in colours by WH McFarlane Edinburgh and the lower right, "Engraved by J.Bartholomew. Edin.".
