Biography:

Samuel Charles Brees (1810 – 1865)

Painter, architect, engineer and entrepreneur. Appointed engineer and surveyor to the New Zealand Co. in 1842. He actively promoted emigration to New Zealand through talks and his own business. These are the finest steel engravings printed of New Zealand. Early and rare.
