Carte de visite portrait of Arthur Arnould (1833-1895) a member of the Paris Commune which was the socialist and revolutionary government that ruled Paris from 18 March to 28 May 1871.
Arnold was a French writer and journalist. He actively participated in the Commune of Paris and wrote many novels. After a short administrative career, Arthur Arnould, became a journalist of opposition to the Second Empire. After the proclamation of the Republic, September 4, 1870, he was appointed deputy mayor of the fourth arrondissement. On March 26, 1871, he was elected to the Council of the Commune by the fourth and seventh arrondissement. After the Bloody Week , he took refuge in Switzerland and only returned to France after the amnesty of 1880. He wrote The State and Revolution (1877), a popular and parliamentary history of the Paris Commune, published in 1878 in Brussels by Henry Kistemaeckers , and a few novels under the pseudonym of Arthur Matthey.

Parisian photographer who started his photographic career in 1852. His addresses 31 Bd de la Bonne Nouvelle - Paris, 8-10 rue du Nord. He sold his business to Bacard Fils in 1870.
