Scare, hand coloured engraved map of Cuba, Jamaica and Porto Rico, from the first edition of Colton’s atlas. 

This first edition is identified by the map number ’57’ at lower right. Later editions have much higher map numbers for this map.Colton continually updated his atlases, changing the map numbers as he issued later editions with more maps.

The map is surrounded by Colton’s signature, strap work scrolled border found on all of Colton’s maps.
