Not a full Bible in the usual sense, Mortier presents the books of the Bible through his illustrations, each accompanied by a short telling of the story in standard prose. The fine, large engravings were produced by or from the works of several masters. Many were later reproduced and used again in later and lesser bibles, in most case significantly reduced.
