Joseph Smit (1836 – 1929)
Born in the Netherlands, he was invited to UK to do the lithography for Sclater’s Exotic Ornithology. He did Wolf’s Zoological Sketchesand Elliot’s Birds of Paradise.He contributed regularly to the Transactions and Proceedings of the Zoological Society, Ibis, and The Field.
