 Contemporary account of Volunteers Encampment at Windsor Farm. 
The Volunteers at Easter went into camp at Middle Head, Sydney, and at Windsor Farm, the number at the latter place being 1,200, under the command of Lieutenant Colonels Raymond, Goodlet, and Holborow. The camp was situated on the cleared land on the banks of the South Creek, and presented a most picturesque appearance. On Easter Tuesday His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by the Premier and several members of the Ministry, visited the encampment and witnessed the sham fight. On the following day the encampment terminated, the tents being struck and the various corps returning to their different headquarters.
