Poster for the 1958 exhibition at the Limoges Museum which exhibited 180 hundred masterpieces of the 12th century, 13th, 14th centuries pieces kept in churches and museums in France, at the Musee Municipal Limoges. The Limoges Museum is within the historical district of La Cit Saint-Etienne, among terraced gardens overhanging the Vienne valley. It occupies the former Episcopal Palace, built close to the cathedral in the 18th century by Joseph Brousseau for the Bishop of Limoges, Louis-Charles Duplessis d’Argent. It has been home to the museum since its foundation in 1912.
