Giovanni Rizzi Zannoni (1736-1814) 

Zannoni was a Italian cartographer active in Venice and Naples in the C18th.Born in Padua, Italy, Zannoni studied Astronomy at the University of Padua and after leaving university, he was commissioned by King Augustus III of Poland, to map that country. His survey was the most update of Poland at the time. In 1857 Zannoni was taken to Paris as a prisoner of war where he stayed 20 years.
