Interesting French map of the world on Mercator’s projection with Australia placed in the centre. Decorative title cartouch comprising a globe, telescope and navigational instruments. Conrad Malte-Brun (1775-1826 ) was aDanish geographer born in Jutland, established himself in Paris in 1800. A geographer of considerable repute his work was continued by his son Victor.
