Description:
Engraved view of George Munro’s works, Alfredton, Ballarat
George Munro was a successful businessman and entrepreneur in the Ballarat region of Victoria, Australia, in the 19th century. In addition to his wool-scouring works and other enterprises, he also established a Ballarat Implement Maker business. The Ballarat Implement Maker produced a wide range of agricultural machinery, including plows, cultivators, seed drills, and harvesting equipment. Munro’s Ballarat Implement Maker quickly became a success, with many local farmers and graziers purchasing their equipment from him. The business also expanded to include a repair and maintenance service, ensuring that the machinery remained in good working order.
