Biography:
William Lionel Wylie (1851-1931)
Marine painter, illustrator & etcher, he studied at the RA Schools & learnt the art of boat building. His pictures of shipping in the Thames are amongst the best and accurate that exist. He was a marine artist on The Graphic and was made Marine Painter to the Royal Yacht Squadron.
