Sir Fredk. M. Darley Kt. Chief Justice

Sir Frederick Matthew Darley was chief Justice at the time of this portrait but on the retirement of Sir Alfred Stephen at the end of 1891, he was appointed Lieutenant Governor of New South Wales. Darley’s longest term as lieutenant-governor was again from 1 November 1900 to 27 May 1902, during and after federation.
