Scarce stereo albumen paper photographs laid onto card as issued, with printed studio name, of a group of natives of the Solomon’s, published by George Rose, Melbourne, Sydney, Wellington & London.

George Rose (1861 - 1942)

Melbourne photographer who started his photographic career around 1880 producing stereoscopic or 3-D images when viewed through a special viewer. He called his business ‘The Rose Stereograph Company’ and he toured the world with his 3-D camera, producing stereographs for the home and overseas markets.
