Description:
The William Buckley (1780-1856) story is a fascinating tale of survival against all odds and symbolises living in harmony with Koories. The young convict escaped from custody in 1803 at Sorrento, Victoria, Australia. Remarkably, for the next three decades, Buckley wandered extensively throughout the region, living much of the time with local Aborigines. Most of his years on the run were spent around what is now Geelong, through the Otway Ranges and along the coast.
