Description:

Map of Kintyre and the Isle of Gigha, situated off Glasgow and off the western coast of Isle of Arran. The map is oriented with north to the right. The map was by Timothy Pont (1564-C1614) and engraved by Blaeu. Decorated in Blaeu’s famous style with a decorative title featuring a pair of cherubs holding fishing rod and line. The scale at lower right also has a pair of cherubs and with a armillary sphere at top. Latin text on verso.
