Louis Isidore Duperrey 1786-1865

Superb engraving from Voyage Autour du Monde being the voyage of the La Coquille commanded by Louis Duperrey in 1825-1825. The ship visited many Pacific Islands including New Guinea, Tonga, Society Islands, New Zealand, Tahiti and Australia. They collected thousands of specimens, many of which were new to science.
