Rare c.18th engraving of a fly whisk with ‘Janus’ figures on the handles from the official British Admiralty sanctioned edition of the accounts of Cook’s first voyage.
The whisk was collected from Rurutu one of the Austral Islands, Windward Islands and part of the Society Islands. Situated 570kms from Tahiti.
