Painter born who first worked in the City. Studied at the R.A. Schools 1877–9. Exhibited at the R.A. and R.W.S. from 1879, showing portraits, genre and illustrations. Worked for Cassell’s, who sent him to Australia to illustrate Picturesque Australia, for The Graphic, and also for American magazines.
