Two volume account of Wellington by John Marius Wilson published by Fullarton & Co. London, Edinburgh, and Dublin, in original red cloth with gilt embossed image of Wellington on his horse. Large 8vo. pp. 1 p.l., [v]-xii, 644; 1 p.l., [v]-viii, 632. 2 additional engraved titles, illustrated with 27 engraved portraits and 24 partly hand coloured engraved maps & plans on 13 plates and 7 other engraved plates.

John Marius Wilson (c.1805–1885)
Wilson was a British writer and an editor born in Lochmaben, Dumfriesshire in about 1805, and was ordained as a Congregationalist minister, working for a time in County Galway in Ireland. From the late 1840s onwards he devoted himself to writing and editing, living in Edinburgh, where he died in 1885, aged 80.
