Portrait of the well known aboriginal Bennelong (1764-1813) who was captured in 1789 by orders of Governor Phillip and brought to Sydney Cove. He soon adapted to life with the Governor and even accompanied Phillip in 1792 to England where he was presented to King George III. Bennelong Point is named after him. Rare.
