Biography:

Samuel Charles Brees (1810 – 1865)

Painter, architect, engineer and entrepreneur, Brees was appointed engineer and surveyor to the New Zealand Co. in 1842. He actively promoted emigration to New Zealand through talks and his own business. These are the finest steel engravings printer of New Zealand. Early and rare.
