The magnificent French Gothic bluestone mansion was built in 1873 by John Dixon Wyselaskie. The second owner of Narrapumelap was Gerald Neville Buckley, who purchased the estate in 1884 an continued to live there for the remainder of his life. Subsequently it was inherited by his brother Charles Mars Buckley until his death in 1946.
