Bound in green cloth, with pictorial paste down label on front cover, includes 16 page Phillips’ London Guide, with detailed information of London, theaters, entertainment, music halls, exhibitions, cathedrals, monuments, parks, steamers, bridges, Street directory, bus routes and cab fares.

George Philip (1799 - 1882)

Philip was a London geographical publisher, globe maker, and founder of the firm George Philip & Son. He started business in 1834 in Liverpool and from about 1848 he traded as "George Philip & Son" with his son and successor George Phillip II (1823-1902. Philip retired 1 July 1879 and the business was coninued by his son and nephew.
