John Pinkerton ( 1758 - 1826)

Edinburgh cartographer who alongside John Thompson pioneered scientific principals in mapmaking in Scotland in the early C19th. Their maps were accurate and were intentionally not embellished. Pinkerton’s main work was the Pinkerton’s Modern Atlas.
