John Rapkin ( 1813 - 1899)

British mapmaker and engraver who is best known for his superb engraving on John Tallis publications.

He was born in Southwark, the son of George Rapkin, a shoemaker, and his wife Elizabeth Harfy. Rapkin and his brother Richard were both engravers and his other brother, William Harfy Rapkin, was a printer.
