Rare folio lithograph of the Basilica di san Giovanni-In-Laterano, the cathedral church of the Diocese of Rome and the official ecclesiastical seat of the Bishop of Rome, who is the Pope. To the right of the image is the new access, “la porta moderna de San Giovanni” on Piazzale Appio.

Felix Benoist (1818-1896)

French artist born in Saumur was a painter, draftsman and engraver. He produced of French, Italian, English and Russian views.
