Rare, superbly embellished c.18th hand coloured engraved map by Matthaus Seutter of Germany during the Roman Empire.

The map offers a detailed representation of the region, extending from Paris to Warsaw and from Denmark to Italy. The map highlights numerous cities founded by the Romans, along with significant battle sites. It also features three large vignettes depicting various battles, indigenous scenes, and a range of other intricate details.

Matthaus Seutter (1678-1756) Mapmaker, engraver and publisher of Augsburg. A pupil of Homann he set up on his account in 1707 & appointed Geographer to the Imperial Court.
