Seutter’s map is based on Reland’s 1715 map and essentially remains unaltered other than alteration of the decorative elements. In place of the dedication, the panel in the middle now contains the explanatory text on the origin of the map but omitting the references to Reland. A rare and one of the most desirable maps of Japan.
