The other explorers routes marked are those of, Lefroy 1862, Gregory 1846, Austin 1854, Dempster 1861 and Robinson 1863. From Petermann’s Geographische Mittheilungen Peterman was of international repute, he accompanied Barth in Central Africa, and travelled the Arctic. He worked in London 1847-1854, experimented in thematic mapping and compiled maps for Fullarton. In Germany he worked for Perthes. He died in Gotha.
