he Tardieu family of mapmakers and engravers were important French publishers and a number of their maps show the close involvement they had with the Baudin expedition.
Ambroise Tardieu (1788 - 1841)
Tardieu was a French cartographer and engraver of Paris Rue de Sorbonne No 385 was born in 1788 and died in 1841. Tardieu composed maps for Voyages of La Harpe 1821, for Dumont Durville1833 and an Atlas Universal in 1842. He also worked for the depot marine.
