Scarce c.19th hand coloured engraving of the Peake Overland Telegraph Repeater Station which was about 20 kilometres east of the Oodnadatta Track. Repeater stations were built at about every 250 kilometres along the telegraph line. At each repeater station a telegraphist received each message and re-transmitted it to the next station along the line.
