From the early c.20th Federated Malay States Survey Department until to its eventual transformation into the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia it produced quality maps. These surveys resulted in scientifically produced, detailed maps of the region, including the developing road systems and topographical features, which were valuable for understanding the area’s infrastructure and geography.
