St. Patrick’s Dinner, Royal Exchange Hotel.

Rare c.19th engraving of THE ST. PATRICK’S DJNNER. We present our readers with an illustration of the festivity by which, on the 16th ultimo, the anniversary of St. Patrick’s Day Was commemorated in Sydney. The dinner took place at the Exchange Hotel under the presidency of the Attorney General. His Honor Mr. Justice Therry was also present at the banquet, and, as a matter of course, delivered an eloquent speech on the occasion. The proceedings of the evening were not merely convivial, but were made, at the suggestion of Mr. Plunkett, to subserve an object of charity ; a subscription of upwards of £70 having been made in the room in aid of the Asylum for the relief of Destitute Children.
