Description:
Very rare small c.19th engraved view the Fishery Company’s Station at Brother’s Bay.
Contemporary account: ‘View of the picturesque yet well selected Harbour Station of the Company, from which sheltered post, the small-commencing fleet of this Proprietary, put out to sea, and return laden with their scaly spoil. The Dolphin smack, is seen standing in to the southernmost of the two Bays known as the Brothers-an appellation suggested by their similitude in shape and size. In this Bay the tents of two of the Fishing parties in the employ of the Company, are seen. Here, too, the Assistant Superintendent resides in his canvas habitation-reporting weekly to the Board the trips and operations of the men under his charge.’
