T.S.C. - Thomas Selby Cousins (1840 - 1897)

T.S.C. - Thomas Selby Cousins (1840-1897) Cartoonist, illustrator, painter, and engraver son of the engraver Henry Cousins and nephew of the engraver Samuel Cousins. He emigrated for health reasons to New Zealand in 1863-64 and subsequently moved to Melbourne in 1867 finding work as an illustrator and cartoonist. After sometime he returned to Christchurch and worked primarily as a portrait painter.
