Australian Federation Stereo card by George Rose, of the laying the foundation stone for the Prince Alfred Hospital by the Duke of York on 31 May, 1901.  

Artist:

George Rose (1861-1942)

Rose was a Melbourne photographer who started his photographic career around 1880 producing stereoscopic or 3-D images when viewed through a special viewer. He called his business ‘The Rose Stereograph Company’ and he toured the world with his 3-D camera, producing stereographs for the home and overseas markets.
